The NOVA Dolfans Miami Dolphins Fan Club started years ago with a handful of fans who would religiously show up at the Hard Times cafe to cheer on their favorite team—the Miami Dolphins. Many were South Florida transplants who had relocated to the VA/ DC/ MD area for work or play, and others, while not originally from Miami have a special place in their heart for the team. In those days, Hard Times was packed with Dolfans and the walls covered with Dolphins memorabilia.
We moved our group to the Reston/Herndon area in 2011. DC / NOVA area fans alike have been still coming out in droves, increasing the fan club membership to over 500 people with the floor packed on game days with as many as 100 Dolfans! Our goal by the end of the 2014 season is to have over 100 fans showing up for the all the games. Our secondary goal is to convert the anyone who wanders into O"Sullivan's Irish Pub on any given Sunday into a Dolfan.
We have become officially recognized and affiliated with the Miami Dolphins organization. What does that mean? We have access to some nice Dolphin's Swag to raffle off to our members. Our members enjoy special perks and VIP opportunities by the Dolphins Organization as well.
In addition to just watching the games, we also have door prizes, raffles and occasionally guest appearances and live entertainment. We donate part of our fundraising to Dolphins sponsored or related charities.
We also partner with other fan groups in organizing road trips for opponent's stadium takeovers! In 2013, 760 Dolfans took over two sections of the Jets stadium and over 100 fans grouped together for the Pittsburg game to cheer on our Fins! Our DC Shutdown event for the Redskins in 2015 we had a pre-party of 300 Dolfans including O.J. McDuffie and a tailgate at the game with over 500 Dolfans!, 2016 is shaping up to be a great season as well!
Come join our group of enthusiastic (loud and rowdy, but kid and wife friendly) local area Dolphins fans every game day to cheer on our beloved team.
Sully's Pour House (formerly O'Sullivans Irish Pub) in Herndon is our home. They are HUGE football fans and our games are on their Projection screen and HDTVs everywhere, overhead sound, great draft and food specials are what you can expect. .And even better—you will hear our fight song over their PA system! We are feeling the love here.
